Months 17, 18, and 19

July 4, 2005

Well, it’s been a while and I have some new news.

I have been focusing on PSO, luteolin, and elegiac acid, with a smattering of other supplements. I have taken out the Rosemary / Ursolic Acid. I have two types of PSO, and I chose one to go with. Another AS-oriented individual who I have been in contact with using ursolic acid with buccal administration. I am like what, and he explained it to mean keeping the ursolic acid next to the cheek. He did not swallow it after. From this I and now taking my PSO last using sublingual and buccal administration. Essentially I am keeping the PSO liquid in my mouth for anywhere between 15 minutes and an hour depending on circumstances. I then swallow it.

I am feeling better than ever, still no symptoms.

After 3 months of that I had another PSA score. It was 3.0, up some from the 2.45 previously, and still below the 3.3 I had a year ago.

I am now switching over to my second type of PSO, and I will try that for about 3 months and retest. Then I will move to Rosemary without PSO and see what happens then.

I’ve been over in The Philippines now for 2 weeks. I have some filtered water and stainless steel pans, so that’s a good thing. I brought over a subset of my supplements, namely PSO, luteolin, and elegiac acid as well as sulforaphane. saw palmetto, and rosemary. I have about another month here, then I return to America for a week before going off for a week in London.

September starts a new year of teaching for me. I will keep two of the part time jobs if they both rehire me. If the second one can’t find someone to immediately replace me then I will quit after December, but keep my first one, which is largely remote.

After the passing of the jet lag and a bug I had for a day or two before my flights, through the flights, and one day after, I have to say I feel fantastic. I have finally lost some weight, and I hope to keep that up. After about 3 intense months of trying, I have lost 10 kg, and really hope to keep that up at a rate of at least 5 kg a month. By December, I hope to give skiing another try. The last time was about 3 years ago, where I had a winter pass to Whiteface Mountain in upper New York State. I skied the best in my life at the end of that season, which ended to soon with a bad fall and a torn rotator cuff. Doctors were anxious to operate, but I demurred and it fixed itself with the help of some physical therapy. I carried that attitude into my latest PCa challenge, and so far, so good. I am also giving stretching another round of seriousness since about a month ago, my sciatica returned. I had had it back when I was 50 or so, and I remembered that yoga classes fixed it. So I have my own private yoga practice where I do what I remember from those classes in 30 to 60 minute sessions every day. And once again the sciatica has gone away, and the pain in my left knee which I was taking gelatin shots for no longer required those shots. The left knee still is not as flexible as compared to the right, but I will be persistent with the yoga and see where that takes me.

I will take another PSA test in September when things return to normal and make whatever changes I might consider when I see the results of that.

My best to everyone out there. Thanks to those who have been posting new info, as well as others who have emailed me details and suggestions.
